Details
The objective of this session will be to facilitate interaction between researchers, policymakers, decision makers and NGOs, and to help researchers learn how to have impact on policy and strategy, and to interact with relevant stakeholders. The event will mainly focus on Conservation policy in Europe and also globally, EU Restoration Regulation NRR, Habitats Directive, Birds Directive, Environmental Liability Directive. The NRR provides multiple challenges and perspectives for the EU Biodiversity conservation theory and practice particular in 2026 when in autumn the national nature restoration plans need to be proposed to the Commission. The topic provides support and insights in the broader picture of the future policy of restoration of biodiversity within the EU and its implementation. Thought-provoking questions will be displayed right after the presentation to enable an interactive start into broader discussion. The event will include presentations from invited experts, discussion in small groups and finally discussion in the whole group.
