Details
There are serious problems with existing conservation practice. There are considerable gaps in evidence with many actions lacking sufficient information to decide whether they are worthwhile. The result is that significant time and resources are wasted on ineffective or even harmful actions. In practice there is remarkably little learning. Embedding occasional tests into practice is one realistic way forward.
In this workshop, we pose the question: what is a fair test? We will ask the participants to assess example projects and score each according to how useful the resulting information is in informing you whether management was effective.
We will then run through a suggested process for designing and refining a test, which is applicable to all.
