Subtheme: 2. Stronger together: partnerships to grow cycling tourism Cycling tourism can only generate return on investment when all the pieces of a cycling offer are in place: from the route itself to the service providers, with bicycle transport or rental services along the way. In an attempt to apply a start-up mindset to the cycling tourism business case, this panel discussion will focus on the ingredients for successful public-private collaboration in cycling tourism. It will cover new trends and innovations as well as basic governance and coordination required to create impact.

Biography

Alexandra has been working for the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) since 2022. She currently oversees EU-funded projects related to EuroVelo and cycling tourism, such as the Baltic Biking UPGRADE project, and works on the European Certification Standard, ECF’s methodology to assess the quality of long-distance cycling routes.

Biography

Jasmina Fiasse is in charge of cycling tourism projects for Pro Velo and the coordination of the Belgian NECC. Prior to this, she is been working for 10 years in a variety of roles: developing services for cyclists and helping public authorities and businesses to develop their cycling policies.

She currently coordinates the Interreg project Baltic Biking UPGRADE(BBU), focused on improving the quality, connectivity&governance of EuroVelo10. She has +15 years of experience in transnational cooperation &EU project management in the Baltic SeaRegion.
