Payment & confirmation
All costs referred to are in Euro (€). All payments must be made in Euro (€), no other currency will be accepted. Full payment is due for the registration fees. Upon completion of your online registration, you will be sent a confirmation by email. The confirmation is sent to the email address provided on the registration form and will show whether we have received your payment and will include an invoice.
Only digital versions of invoices will be sent to participants upon completion of the online registration. The invoice will be issued using the contact details provided on the registration form so please make sure you have provided us with the correct information.
Payment process per payment type:
• Payment by Credit Card - VISA and MasterCard,
The online registration platform is a secured site. VISA, and MasterCard are the only credit cards accepted via the registration system. Please enter all relevant information on the payment page of the online registration system. Upon completion of the online registration and payment process, you will receive a paid invoice by email. Payment by credit card is the only payment method available online.
• Payment by bank transfer is only avalible by request. Please contact the EFCLIN@congressbydesign.com for more information.
Cancellation Policy:
Notification of cancellation must be made in writing and sent via email to EFCLIN@congressbydesign.com and info@EFCLIN.com.

• In case of cancellation before or on 1st of April 2024, 25% of the full registration costs (congress fee and any social activities booked) must be paid.
• If the cancellation is received on and after 2nd of April 2024, 100% of the full registration costs are due.
Exception: after this date, if the participant is forbidden to travel by his/her institution or by travel regulations, he/she may transfer his/her registration to a colleague who is not registered yet. The organization will charge a name change fee of €50. The participant will be asked to send by email to
EFCLIN@congressbydesign.com an official document stating his/her impossibility to travel (e.g. positive Covid test result, letter of the institution stating the internal statement). NOTE: No travel and accommodation will be reimbursed.
Name changes
Name changes are not accepted, unless the participant is from the same company. A handling fee of €50 per registration will be charged for every modification received after 25th of February.
For each name change you must notify the Congress registration office by e-mail to before February 25, 2024. Name changes agree to take over all booked program items of the originally registered participant.
Privacy Policy
By registering for this event, you agree to send your information to the European Federation of the Contact Lens and IOL Industries (EFCLIN) who will use it according to its privacy policy. Your information will be processed by Congress by design, as EFCLIN’s registration agent.
Visa letter
All delegates intending to travel to the EFCLIN Congress are advised to check visa requirements for their own specific case before booking any travel arrangements. EFCLIN cannot be held responsible for any losses or additional fees that might be incurred. EFCLIN can issue letters of invitation to bona fide delegates after registration via the EFCLIN website has taken place. If you require such a letter of invitation, please contact the EFCLIN Secretariat via e-mail at efclin@congressbydesign.com after registration.
Health and Safety Protocol
Your safety, security and health are important. EFCLIN will continue to review the coronavirus safety recommendations and guidelines issued by Portugal and the European Union. EFCLIN will adapt its congress plans accordingly and share updates with its audiences if necessary.
For today (November 2023) there are no coronavirus-related restrictions for entering Portugal for travellers who live in the EU/Schengen area or in a country participating in the EU travel rules scheme. The EU entry ban applies to other travellers who live outside the EU/Schengen area, but there are some exceptions.
((In accordance with current local health regulations in Portugal, access to the congress venue will only be granted upon presentation of the EU-wide Digital Corona Certificate (DCC) indicating vaccination, recovery or a recent PCR test. Travelers from outside of the EU will need to arrange their Digital Covid Certificate based on their own vaccination details or submit to testing. There are currently no further requirements for social distancing or mask-wearing once inside the congress venue, but this is subject to change.))

Nevertheless, by registering for this event, you understand that participation in events may increase the risk of exposure and contraction to communicable diseases, and viruses. You agree to release and hold harmless the EFCLIN, the facilities and their employees and representatives from and against damages, liability, claims and expenses arising from the contraction or spread of diseases and viruses, including but not limited to Coronavirus (COVID-19), due to your travel to or participation in any aspects of the EFCLIN Congress. This agreement is binding for you, as well as your successors and heirs.
Insurance
It is recommended that participants obtain adequate cover for travel, health, and accident insurance before they depart from their countries. Congress by desgin as the Congress Secretariat and EFCLIN claim no liability for the act of any supplier to this meeting, nor liability for: acts of God, war or national emergency, acts of terrorism and its consequences, strike, lock-out, fire, explosion, flood riots, civil disturbance, actions taken part of the government, industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disaster, epidemics, health’s risks and pandemics or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the organiser.
