ESVS reserves the right to deny press registration to anybody it considers not to meet these criteria. Please note the number of available press registrations is limited.

CCVUS examination part 1

Ultrasound has been widely implemented as an important tool in the diagnostic armamentarium of vascular clinics across Europe. The aim of the Certificate of Competence in Vascular Ultrasound (CCVUS) is to assess basic vascular ultrasound competences and determine readiness of an operator to progress towards independent practice. Achieving an ESVS-certification in basic vascular US indicates that the experienced operator is able to demonstrate satisfactory technical skills, is able to scan without direct supervision, and has the decision-making skills to call on expert supervisors when needed.

Please note, the CCVUS exam contains a second part on Thursday from 16:30 -18:30. It is mandatory to attend both exams. 

To apply for the CCVUS you must send a copy of (a) an active degree, certification or licence in a health-related field (physician, nurse or technician) and (b) an official statement that you have performed more than 100 supervised examinations equally distributed among carotids, lower limb arterial, and venous. Those who don't pass the the practical part of the exam will be able to re-sit this part only, the following year, without re-purchasing another CCVUS ticket (registration to the Congress still needed). 

This part covers the written exam with 50 multiple-choice questions with one correct answer per five provided responses (60 minutes). For a copy of the full curriculum, please email info@esvs.org Second, a practical exam in which candidates will have to demonstrate their practical skills when performing two to three vascular ultrasound examinations that will be evaluated by examiners according to a standardised evaluation form (app 10-15 minutes)

IVUS Competition

An IVUS case competition will take place at our ESVS 38th Annual Meeting in Krakow and you are invited to participate in this programme by submitting a venous, PAD or aortic case that demonstrates the value of IVUS in allowing physicians to see clearly and treat optimally.

The winner of the competition is offered free travel, accommodation and registration to present her/his case at the VEITH symposium!

The ESVS Meeting Organisers would like to calculate the impact of the meeting on the environment (carbon footprint). For this purpose, we kindly ask you to indicate how you intend travel to Krakow below.

You can indicate if you have travelled by train, by car, by plane or a combination of these.

Please keep in mind that:

  • When you travelled by plane or public transport, we presume you arrived at Krakow airport/station. Please only fill in the airport/station of arrival when it is not Krakow;
  • When you have (also) travelled by car, please indicate the estimated distance for the round trip (to and from Krakow);
  • Distance can be indicated in kilometers or in miles, not both.

With payment by credit card, the amount will be charged immediately at the time of the transaction.
